Description

Spurtles have suddenly become one of the most popular kitchen utensils you must have!

Originally from Scotland, a spurtle is used to stir porridges, soups, sauces, or stews. The rod-shaped tool prevents congealing or lumps forming and by Scottish folklore should be used in the right hand in a clockwise direction.

Spurtles can be used in hot or cold cooking and are oiled with Grapeseed oil, making them completely food safe and can be re-oiled as needed

Hand wash only

We also think spurtles make the best cocktail muddlers!

The timber used to make your spurtle has been milled by us at Morrison’s Huon Pine Sawmill. We then supply Penguin based woodturner, Chris Mitchell, with rough sawn timber and magically these beautiful products appear. Please be aware that as these items are handcrafted, there will be differences in each item. No two items are the same, but they are just as beautiful as the other.
